After School Art
Center School Art teacher Deborah Kowalchuk will use the visual arts to enhance your child’s creative self-expression in a “no-fail” environment. Fun and creative wintery projects will allow each student to relax and re-focus at the end of a busy school day. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of eight students, giving your child a chance to interact with other children and on a one-to-one basis. Art projects include ceramics, painting techniques, 3D sculpture, and much more! There is an additional cost for the art club.
Center School is offering drama through a local theater company that specializes in education programming. Theater Horizon provides professional actors as teachers who have had years of experience teaching youth and teens. This 17-week program for students culminates in the production of a play on an evening in April. Drama practices are held after school each Thursday beginning in November.
Our LEGO® MINDSTORMS® after school activity is for students in grades 6-8. Students use principles from STEM and experience computer programming through hands-on, interactive learning.
The Running club is a healthy lifestyles after school activity for grades 1-8. Students will have the opportunity to set and reach personal goals while increasing running stamina. This is great practice to train for our upcoming Run to Read 5K/1 Mile Fun Walk in April.
