Hello! I am happy to share a few things that I do as the Developmental Guidance Counselor at Center School.
I have been in education for my adult life, starting with a B.S. in Elementary/Special Education and then an M.Ed. in School Guidance Counseling.
For the past 18 years, I have been at Center School. I often say I have the best job in the world because I do! I have the opportunity to work with students, parents, teachers, and staff. I teach guidance lessons to all the classes. These lessons revolve around Mindfulness, Brain Plasticity, and Growth Mindset while also demystifying students so they can work toward their potential. I lead Monday Morning Meetings, which are the vehicle for our yearly school-wide themes. Having been instructed in Responsive Classroom, I share these practices with faculty members, who then incorporate them into their teaching.
In my free time, I like to spend time with my sons and their spouses, who inspire me, ground me, and make me laugh.
I am thrilled to be a part of the CS team and look forward to connecting with you throughout the year!
