SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHERS for Grades 1/2 and Grade 3
Center School’s Summer Learning and Enrichment Program provides students in grades 1-6 with academic and recreational opportunities to develop and maintain skills, practice effective learning strategies and increase abilities in a warm, welcoming and fun-filled environment. Our summer program nurtures students’ confidence and guides them in realizing their potential.
Each day, students experience two and one quarter hours of Center School’s trusted curriculum. One and one-half hours of language based instruction includes phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and writing through interactive activities. Executive function skills of organization, problem solving and flexible thinking are woven into social games and team activities. Students participate in STEM projects with technology experts to leverage strengths in science, technology and math.
Center School is seeking qualified teachers with at least two years of elementary teaching experience for a grade 1/2 (combination class) and a grade 3 class to be part of the summer program teaching team. Experience in Wilson Fundations is preferred.
Center School’s Summer Learning and Enrichment Program runs Monday, July 2 through Friday, July 27, 2018 from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm. (closed July 4, 2018) Teachers are responsible for teaching phonics, reading, writing, and creating a safe, orderly, caring, and respectful learning environment with classroom expectations and routines.
