This page provides information about the possibility of quarantining members of the school or closing the school due to exposure to or a confirmed case of COVID-19.
Information is subject to change based upon updates from federal, state, and/or local authorities.
The Head of School will make decisions based upon the information that is available and the impact of the situation on the safety of students and employees.
Exposure
If a student or employee has been exposed to anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19, that person will remain home until allowed to return to school according to Center School’s guidelines.
The situation will be evaluated according to CDC and Department of Health guidelines to determine if certain members of the community should also be placed on quarantine or if the school should close.
Confirmed Case
If a student or employee has been confirmed with COVID-19, local health officials will be notified. That person will remain home until allowed to return to school according to Center School’s guidelines. Any student or employee who has come into close contact with the confirmed case (less than six feet away and greater than 15 minutes) will quarantine for 14 days and be allowed to return to school according to Center School’s guidelines.
Most likely, the school will close for 2-5 days in order to evaluate the situation and properly clean and disinfect the school. Depending upon the outcome of the situation, the school may be closed for more than 2-5 days.
During a quarantine or closure, the student or employee will participate in Center School at Home Hybrid Model or Center School at Home depending on the situation.
